The last shipment of Lava Butane in December 2010 marked the end of a legacy created by Pyro Products. The untimely passing of Pyro Products founder in 2008 resulted in the end of production of Lava Butane, Pyros' flagship product and, until recently, the cleanest butane on the planet. The remaining Lava inventory continued to be sold until the last cans were shipped at the close of year 2010.
As we bid farewell to Lava, a new ultra premium butane product has emerged. TattooWorks® is the only 5 times refined butane product available. This ultra premium butane is unmatched by any other butane product. Some butane products are marketed and
sold as “refined 5 times” or "Quadruple Refined", but they are not.
FACT: There have only been two butane products manufactured that are truly refined 5 times – Lava and TattooWorks®.

And with the departure of Lava from the market, there is now only one, truly refined 5 times ultra premium butane and that is TattooWorks®.
Why ultra refined butane one might ask? The answer: contaminants. When used in jet torches, cleaner fuel means less contaminants that clog the combustion point where the fuel and oxygen are mixed. Less oxygen in the mixture causes a yellow flame with reduced heat. A proper mixture in a jet torch produces a hotter, blue flame that can be nearly invisible against some backgrounds.
Butane has also been a key element utilized in the extraction process of organic plant materials for the manufacture of honey oil concentrates. The cleaner, ultra premium 5 times refined butane has always been the preferred solvent for this procedure.
